Diabetic Clinic is Set for Tuesday

A diabetic clinic will be offered Tuesday at 6 p.m. at South Gibson Medical Clinic, Fort Branch, Ind. John Voliva, compounding specialist for Hook's Apothecary, will talk about natural and over- the-counter supplements to aid with diabetic symptoms. There will be free blood sugar screenings. The Women's Hospital, 4199 Gateway Blvd., is offering a health screening day Wednesday, from noon to 7 p.m. Screening includes height and weight, blood pressure, BMI (body mass index), cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides and glucose checks. The cost is $15 per person. An optional bone density heel scan is also available for an additional $7. To register, call 842-4356.

The mammography screening "Sharing the Vision: Early Detection of Breast Cancer" will be offered for those who qualify Oct. 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Gibson County Health Department, 800 S. Gibson General Hospital, Princeton, Ind., will offer a basic first aid class Oct. 25 at 6 p.m. For healthcare providers, the hospital is sponsoring Basic Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation and Advanced Cardiac Life Support courses Nov. 18-20. Classes begin at 7:30 a.m. in the hospital's Health & Education Room. Class size is limited. Registration deadline is Friday.
