Exterminate! An Award for Freema, Then a New Job? ; Pandora
By OLIVER DUFF
Doctor Who’s comely newish assistant Freema Agyeman scooped the Best Newcomer gong at Glamour magazine’s Women of the Year Awards on Tuesday, attended by the likes of Sienna Miller, Victoria Beckham (below left), Katherine Jenkins and Girls Aloud.
It was an admirably bold move for the organ, since the talented Agyeman’s future on the flagship Beeb show is the subject of industry gossip involving the words “blade” and “dangling”. Programme makers have reportedly considered losing her in a remote corner of the universe.
A spokesman for the actress, pictured left with The Doctor (David Tennant), insists: “Freema has not been axed.” But he adds, cryptically: “As for the show, we make a point of never commenting on any future storylines.”
