Pro-Pharmaceuticals to Present at Techvest Annual Healthcare Conference

Phase l

The Company recently announced that a number of patients in its Phase l clinical trial are receiving additional cycles (3, 4, & 5) of DAVANAT(R) combined with 5-Fluorouracil (5-FU) chemotherapy drug. The Phase l trial was designed for refractory patients to be dosed in two cycles: DAVANAT alone in cycle one and DAVANAT combined with 5-FU in cycle two. In June, the Company reported interim Phase l data for the first five cohorts that suggested both DAVANAT alone and DAVANAT combined with 5-FU were well tolerated in patients. The Phase l study is in its sixth and final cohort and is expected to evaluate 32 patients, all with solid tumors. Patients enrolled suffer from colorectal, liver, pancreatic, prostate and ovarian cancers.

Phase ll

The Company's Phase II clinical trial of DAVANAT combined with 5-FU will evaluate the efficacy and safety of intravenous DAVANAT/5-FU when administered in monthly cycles as third-line therapy for metastatic colorectal cancer. Clinical protocols are also being considered for the evaluation of DAVANAT in other cancer indications in Phase ll trials where 5-FU is used alone or in combination with other chemotherapy drugs as first, second or third line therapies.
