CHICAGO, June 11 /PRNewswire/ — “Transplantation: The Year in Review” is scheduled for August 18, 2007 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. The regional conference, co-sponsored by the American Society of Transplantation (AST) and the Organization for Transplant Professionals (NATCO), will feature recent developments in solid organ transplantation medicine and focus on the most outstanding presentations from the 2007 American Transplant Congress (ATC) in San Francisco. This meeting is a must for anyone who practices in the field. Topics such as new drugs and trends in immunosuppression, basic science of clinical interest and organ allocation and donor issues will be discussed. Organ-specific breakout sessions will be conducted by experts in solid organ transplantation.

Something for Everyone

Transplant professionals who did not attend ATC in May will have the opportunity to receive updates about progress in the field. In just one-day, participants will become acquainted with recent advances in basic transplant research that may soon impact the care they provide their patients.

Even professionals who attended ATC will profit from this one-day review course. Given the extensive number of sessions that were available at ATC, many participants were not able to attend all the sessions that are critical to their career development and patient care. This regional meeting offers participants an exceptional opportunity to gain additional understanding of the key issues that were presented at ATC.

“Transplantation: The Year in Review” was organized with transplant professionals and community-based specialists caring for transplant patients in mind. Transplant physicians, surgeons, transplant coordinators, nurses, physician assistants, trainees, and other interested professionals will have access to valuable information and insights.

One Day = Many Benefits

It is not uncommon for specialists in the field to struggle to find time to fit additional learning opportunities into their busy schedules. The August meeting was organized to serve the needs of the busy professional. With an emphasis on significant developments, key research and a one-day time frame, this is a meeting that will benefit anyone who practices in the field. Continuing medical education credits are also available for a variety of disciplines.
