Diabetes Centers of America Becomes Diabetes America
HOUSTON, June 14 /PRNewswire/ — Diabetes Centers of America (DCoA) announced today the launch of its new name, Diabetes America. Diabetes America (DA) will build on the success of DCoA, an established network of premiere diabetes care and management centers across the state of Texas. In the span of two years, DCoA has grown from one original center in Houston, to its current roster of twelve existing centers throughout the state of Texas.
The new name, Diabetes America, was chosen to better reflect the full suite of services available to individuals with diabetes. Diabetes America’s mission has always been to create comprehensive care and management programs to encompass all areas of life affected by diabetes. Diabetes America will be adding to its existing model of center-based diabetes medical care and education to include other full service programs. These services include Diabetes America Pharmacy, a full service on-site pharmacy to facilitate patients’ prescription needs, Diabetes America Cares, a 24/7 emotional and behavioral health hotline service, and Diabetes America Lifestyle, a service that focuses on healthy lifestyles and non-surgical weight management.
