Posted on: Thursday, 14 June 2007, 12:15 CDT

American Medical Systems Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMMD) marked the opening of the 2007 International Urogynecological Association annual meeting with the strongest line-up of product innovation and clinical data news in the Company's history.

"Proven product innovation is at the heart of the AMS mission and its success," said Martin J. Emerson, President and CEO, "and we are pleased to bring so many meaningful advances and insights to share at this year's IUGA meeting." IUGA attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the latest benchmark clinical data available on Monarc®, SPARC®, Apogee®, and Perigee®, with 18 abstracts to be presented at the meeting. This information enhances and expands the impressive body of clinical data from over 81 articles and 180 abstracts in support of these leading devices.

In addition to the latest clinical data, new product technologies featured by AMS will include:

IntePro Lite™ Mesh, offering lower mesh density and enhanced pliability for optimal anatomical conformance and repair quality

Perigee® inferior needle extension to safely increase access to the ischial spine in more challenging patients

MiniArc™ Single Incision Sling System, a simple, easy-to-use procedure designed to reduce operative invasiveness and enhance recovery in patients with stress urinary incontinence

Dr. Robert D. Moore of Atlanta, Georgia, one of the nation's leading urogynecologists, will present, "MiniArc: The Elegant Next Step in Minimally Invasive Slings", and "Pelvic Floor Surgery: Product Advancements and Recent Data" in the AMS booth #4/5 on Thursday, June 14, and Friday, June 15.

Professor Mauro Cervigni, Tor Vergata University, Rome, Italy, will moderate the symposium, "The Case for Innovation in Pelvic Floor Surgery", which will include a presentation by G. Willy Davila, M.D., Urogynecology/Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery, Cleveland Clinic Florida entitled "Monarc Slings: The Growing Volume of Data".

"AMS is committed to superior products with clinically proven efficacy", said Emerson, "and we look forward to sharing both our new products and new data with physicians at IUGA this week".
