Catonsville-Based Profectus BioSciences Inc. Awarded $300K Grant

Profectus BioSciences Inc., a biotechnology company located at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, Techcenter in Catonsville, announced it has been awarded an approximately $300,000 grant by the National Institutes of Health, Division of AIDS, to support the development of enhanced adjuvants — substances that speed up the effectiveness of medicines — used in the treatment of HIV/AIDS and other viruses. Profectus, a spinoff from the University of Maryland Biotechnology Institute, identifies and commercializes technologies to reduce the morbidity and mortality caused by viral diseases.
