Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Texas, Angie Summers Column: Fort Worth Native Relocates From ‘The O.C.’ To ‘Chuck’
By Angie Summers, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Texas
Jun. 26–Even though The O.C. television show was canceled, it didn’t take Norman Buckley long to find another job.
An editor and director with The O.C., he’s now an editor with Chuck, a new comedy-adventure show being developed by Josh Schwartz and McG — also known as Joseph McGinty Mitchell. The two were the masterminds behind The O.C., too.
The show is currently in production and has been picked up by NBC.
A Fort Worth native, Buckley majored in history at the University of Texas at Arlington. He then moved to California, where he graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in film and television production.
The Chuck cast includes Zachary Levi, Yvonne Strzechowski, Joshua Gomez, Sarah Lancaster and Adam Baldwin. It will air at 8 p.m. Tuesdays this fall on KXAS/Channel 5.
State leadership: Arlington resident Judy Rupay is helping guide the Texas Alliance of the Boys & Girls Clubs.
Rupay was chosen as secretary of the statewide organization this spring. Other officers include Houston resident John Hernandez, president; Laredo resident Rick Valls, vice president; and San Angelo resident J.B. Francks, treasurer.
The alliance was formed in 1999 as an advocate for youths in the state. It works in partnership with 96 community-based groups operating Boys & Girls Clubs. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Arlington is part of the alliance.

Her office is at 1201 N. Watson Road, Suite 295; the telephone number is 817-385-4786.
