United Russia Campaigning Plan is Entire Society’s Plan – Putin
MOSCOW. Oct 1 (Interfax) – A plan of action spelled out by the United Russia party should not be linked solely with the Russian president’s name, President Vladimir Putin said in his speech at United Russia’s congress on Monday.
“You have linked your campaigning strategy with the name of the country’s current president. I assume that this probably makes sense from the point of view of election campaigning but I am not sure this plan should’ve been personified in this way,” Putin said in his speech at United Russia’s congress on Monday.
The author of this plan is not an individual but a large collective, he said.
“This is, in fact, the result of efforts by the federal government, regional and local authorities, Central Bank and both houses of parliament,” Putin said, adding that “without the decisive support of United Russia, the leading political force, we would not be able to implement this plan, transform it into concrete laws, decrees and government resolutions.”
Nearly all main points of this plan have been widely debated and met with positive response from millions of Russian citizens, Putin said.
“So it would not be an exaggeration to say that this is a plan of the entire Russian society, a long-term strategic plan which is already being realized,” the president said.
