DRCongo UN Mission Official Says 25 Feared Dead in Kinshasa Plane Crash
Text of report by Congolese Top Congo FM radio on 4 October
A plane crashed in Kimbaseke district, east of Kinshasa, killing many people and wounding some. The transport minister said at least 13 persons were killed among the passengers. An official of the UN Organization Mission in the Congo [MONUC] indicated that at least 25 persons are feared dead and indicated that two crew members were rescued. Several homes were also set ablaze. The cargo plane had been en route to Tshikapa, Kasai Occidental Province. It came down about 5km from Ndjili international when it crashed.
