Iranian President Officially Welcomes Vladimir Putin

Tehran, 16 October: Dr Mahmud Ahmadinezhad, the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, a few moments ago, officially welcomed Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Sa’dabad Building in Tehran.

According to IRNA’s political correspondent at the conference venue, at the official welcoming ceremony for Putin, the two countries’ national anthems were played and Ahmadinezhad and Putin reviewed the guard honour.

After the official welcoming ceremony, the Iranian and Russian presidents entered the conference venue where the summit of the five Caspian Sea countries is to be held.

The second summit of Caspian Sea countries is being held in Tehran with the participation of the presidents of Iran, Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
