Putin Says Medvedev Will Be Good President
MOSCOW. Feb 14 (Interfax) – Russian President Vladimir Putin said he trusts Dmitry Medvedev and is convinced he will be a good president.
“I am confident that he will be a good president and an effective manager. But besides other things, there is this personal chemistry: I trust him. I just trust him. Like I said at the United Russia congress, I am not ashamed and not afraid to give such a man leverage over the country’s management,” Putin told a press conference in Moscow on Thursday.
Putin said he was happy to back Medvedev’s candidacy when he was nominated by United Russia and three other parties. He characterized Medvedev as an honest, decent and progressive person, “who has great theoretical training and good organizational skills.”
