Skopje, 5 March: The intensive diplomatic offensive for promoting Macedonia’s candidacy for NATO membership is getting its media support, starting from Thursday [6 March].

-At the moment, the Republic of Macedonia, via its diplomatic network, is presenting its bid for NATO membership worldwide, i.e. its achievements in overall reforms -military, democratic -which literary contribute to Macedonia’s accession to NATO, Government spokesman Ivica Bocevski told MIA on Wednesday.

Part of the campaign will also point out that the country’s constitutional name – the Republic of Macedonia, which is a subject of dispute with Greece, does not present a problem for Macedonia’s NATO membership.

-On Thursday and Friday, advertisements about Macedonia will be published by The Financial Times, International Herald Tribune, The New York Times, France’s Le Monde, German’s Die Welt, Dutch De Telegraff, and Belgian L’Echo, giving media support in western countries to the intensive Macedonian diplomatic offensive, Bocevski said.
