Posted on: Saturday, 19 July 2008, 18:00 CDT

Clashes between Taliban militants and members of another rebel group in Pakistan resulted in the deaths of 15 people Saturday, an official said.

A Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan spokesman, Dr. Mohammad Asad, said Shah Khalid, the head of a regional militant group called the Shah group, was killed in the fighting along with his deputy, Qari Abdullah, The Press Trust of India reported.

The conflicts in Pakistan's Mohmand tribal region also resulted in the capture of 20 supporters of the rival militant group by Pakistani Taliban militants.

Taliban fighters seized weapons and 15 vehicles from the opposing militants.

Asad told the Press Trust the Shah group had been targeting the Taliban in Pakistan for other unidentified parties. The conflict between the two militant groups erupted several weeks ago when they disagreed over control of the region.
