Sudanese Leader Tells Al-Qadhafi Court's Indictment Contrary to AU Resolutions

Text of report by state-owned Libyan TV on 19 July
President of the Republic of Sudan Umar Hasan al-Bashir hold a telephone conversation this afternoon with the brother leader of the revolution [Col Mu'ammar al-Qadhafi]. President Al-Bashir informed the brother leader about the real reasons behind the International Criminal Court's indictment against him. He said the Sudanese people had opposed this ruling which contradicts the African Union [AU] resolutions.
President Al-Bashir reiterated his and Sudanese people's deep appropriation for the brother leader's stances in order to bring about peace and stability in Sudan and, particularly, in Darfur.
President Al-Bashir appealed to the brother leader to continue in his familiar stances in support of the Sudanese people until the achievement of a lasting peace in Darfur.
