Zardari Takes Office in Pakistan

*ISLAMABAD Asif Ali Zardari, the widower of the assassinated former prime minister, Benazir Bhutto, has been sworn in as Pakistan’s new President. After the ceremony at the presidential palace, Mr Zardari told the media he had a comprehensive plan to fight terrorism and said Pakistan’s people were behind him. He replaces Pervez Musharraf, who resigned under pressure last month.
