French Envoy to Sudan Says Signing of Constitution "Important Step"

The French envoy to Sudan, Christine Robichon has said that the dramatic political developments which the country was witnessing, especially the signing of the interim constitution by the president of the republic, [Umar al-Bashir], today, was considered to be an important step on the road to implementing the peace agreement.
Speaking to the press after attending the signing of the constitution at the Republican Palace, she said that her country would continue with its efforts to offer its support to Sudan in cooperation with the international community to strengthen the peace process as well as in the reconstruction and development of Sudan so that the country can enter a new era in development.
