7 Palestinians Killed in Israel Raids

Seven Palestinians were killed in Israeli air strikes on Gaza and the West Bank that targeted Hamas militants Friday, Palestinian sources said.
Palestinian security sources said Israeli helicopters fired several rockets at a car traveling near the West Bank city of Nablus, killing three Hamas militants, including the group's local leader Hussam Fahmi.
The raid apparently came in retaliation to rocket attacks by Hamas militants against Jewish settlements and in the wake of the suicide bombing on Netanya earlier this week.
Shortly after the first raid, Israeli helicopters bombed another car in Gaza city, killing four people and injuring five others.
The raids escalated tensions in the Gaza Strip a few hours after two Palestinians were killed and 20 injured in clashes pitting Palestinian security forces against Hamas gunmen in Gaza.
