British police arrest six over London bombings
LONDON (Reuters) – British police said they had arrested
six more people on Sunday under anti-terrorism laws in
connection with the attempted bombings on London’s transport
system on July 21.
The arrests in southern England, which a police source said
were not thought to be significant, came days after officers
said they believed all four bombing suspects were in custody.
No armed police were involved in the operation and no
further details were immediately available.
British police are questioning 11 people over the attempted
bombings on three underground trains and a bus in the capital,
which came exactly two weeks after four men killed themselves
and 52 people in similar attacks.
Those held include the three suspected bombers while the
fourth suspect is being held by police in Rome.
