The Foreign Ministry spokesman has answered questions about the commotion that is being made by the Western press about Iran's nuclear activity and the time that Esfahan's UCF [Uranium Conversion Facility] is going to start operating.
[Asefi] These days we witness, unfortunately, certain Western media organizations starting crooked and untrue propaganda that Iran wants to build [nuclear] bombs, that Iran wants to build nuclear weapons. In my view this is an act of deceit by some foreign circles because they want to hide the unreasonable nature of their own proposal. This is why they are saying these things, i.e. that Iran wants a nuclear weapon or an atom bomb. As we have said before Esfahan has nothing to do with any nuclear bomb or weapon. Furthermore, we are ready to export Esfahan's products. Those customers, the Europeans, can come and buy its product. Therefore, this is an obvious lie to the public to cover their unreasonable proposal.
As for resumption: For the time being the issue of Natanz [nuclear plant] is not on the agenda. All the discussions have been about Esfahan. We are going to start the issue of Esfahan. The technical representative of the IAEA [International Atomic Energy Agency] will arrive in Iran tomorrow morning. The safeguard representatives of the Agency are in Iran. These three people form a complete team for installing the full equipment, i.e. the extra cameras and other things. Cameras are already installed on the site. It is not as if there is nothing there. Things are under supervision. The inspector will arrive in Iran tomorrow morning, several of them are already in Iran, they will go to the site and install the extra equipment, including the extra cameras. Once this is done we will start our work.
