Iran Nuclear Report Due in Three Weeks

U.N. inspectors have three weeks to prepare a report on Iran's nuclear program, which the United States and Europe want halted.
On Thursday, the governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency approved a EU resolution demanding Iran halt the atomic work it resumed this week, the Financial Times reported.
The IAEA resolution, already rejected by Tehran, voiced its concern and asked IAEA's director general to provide a comprehensive report on Iran's implementation of nuclear safeguards by Sept. 3.
Iran is suspected of trying to build a nuclear weapon, and diplomatic efforts to resolve the crisis have not made any headway. Iran says its nuclear program is only for civilian use.
The issue became a crisis this week after Iran's Isfahan nuclear plant broke U.N. seals to resume the conversion of uranium, even as talks with Britain, France and Germany were continuing.
Iran said it will not suspend its uranium converting activities and that it questioned the authority of the IAEA to tell it to stop, the International Herald Tribune reported.
