[Presenter] The Russian ambassador to Afghanistan has said Russia, members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the independent republics of Central Asia seek clarification on activities of US modern military bases in Afghanistan. He also said Russia, China and members of Shanghai Cooperation Organization would tolerate the US-led coalition against terrorism, but that there was no need for the presence of US forces in Afghanistan after the fall of the Taleban regime. He also expressed concern about continuation of war in Afghanistan and said none of the countries [in the coalition] could stop the war in Afghanistan.
[Unidentified analyst] This is important to set a time frame for the presence of US forces in Afghanistan, and this issue has been mentioned in the joint declaration signed during the president's trip to the USA. The presence of US military bases in Afghanistan needs to be approved by the parliament of Afghanistan. I believe a key issue for discussion will be the presence of US military bases in Afghanistan in our future parliament. However, we must not ignore significant role of foreign forces in stability of Afghanistan.
