Canada's Foreign Affairs Department has advised Canadians now in Bangladesh to leave the country. The advisory was issued after at least 350 home-made bombs exploded almost simultaneously in several Bangladeshi cities, including Dhaka and the port of Chittagong. The attacks killed at least two people and injured 100.
Pamphlets distributed after the explosions demanded the application of Islamic law in Bangladesh. The authorities have made 45 arrests in connection with the blasts.
