[Presenter] The main stages of the forthcoming Peace Mission 2005 Russian-Chinese exercises were practised during a dress rehearsal which took place on the territory of the People's Republic of China today. A considerable part of the 10,000-strong military contingent - which includes 1,800 Russian servicemen, joint groupings of warships and aviation of the ground troops - was involved.
During the rehearsal, among other activities, a Russian-Chinese landing force, including 15 pieces of combat hardware, was parachuted. The naval grouping practised stages of a landing operation, including cooperation in naval landing and manoeuvring of the two countries' warships.
The active phase of the exercises will take place on the Shandong Peninsula and in the Yellow Sea on 23-25 August.
