1st lead: Jordan arrests prime suspect of Aqaba attack Eds: Updates with details
AMMAN, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- Jordan announced that it had arrested a prime suspect of the Aqaba port attack in a government statement on Monday.
The prime suspect, Mohammed Hassan Abdullah al-Sihly, was a Syrian, said the statement read on state television.
Al-Sihly plotted the attack along with others including two of his sons and an Iraqi, added the statement.
Explosions hit Jordan's Aqaba port last Friday morning as two US military ships were docked in the port.
Three Katyushas were fired from the roof of a warehouse in Aqaba port, killing one Jordanian soldier and wounding another.
