Iraqi Minister Blasts Arab League Chief

Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshiyar Zibari Saturday blasted Arab League chief Amr Mousa's position on the draft Iraqi constitution.
Speaking on state-owned al-Iraqiya Television, Zibari said Mousa's comments on the Iraqi draft charter were a prescription for chaos in Iraq.
He said he will lodge a complaint on the issue at the next Arab foreign ministers meeting, scheduled to be held in Cairo later this month.
Mousa, as well as other Arab officials, criticized the Iraqi draft constitution for stressing that only Iraqi Arabs -- rather than the entire population -- would be part of the Arab nation. Mousa warned this threatened Iraq's membership in the 22-member organization.
Zibari slammed the Arab League for failing to take a real initiative in visiting Baghdad or dispatching legal consultants as it had promised.
The Iraqi official also criticized some Arab countries, which he did not name, for not responding to last week's stampede on a Baghdad bridge that killed almost 1,000 people.
Although he said his country had good relations with its neighbors, he accused some bordering nations of interfering in and igniting more violence in his country.
