Moscow, 8 September: On the eve of the fourth round of six-sided talks relating to the nuclear problem on the Korean Peninsula which resume on 13 September, the positions of the sides are closer than ever, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Aleksandr Alekseyev told Interfax today.
"Our view is that the draft joint document (on the results of the talks - IF) genuinely reflects agreement on most aspects determining the overall goals and principles of the six-sided talks," the Russian diplomat said.
He said "this indicates that the positions of the sides have never been as close since the talks started".
Taking part in the talks on the nuclear problem are Russia, the USA, China, Japan, South Korea and the People's Democratic Republic of Korea.
