The US death toll in Iraq today has risen to nine after US officials announced that four soldiers were killed in Al-Ramadi and that another soldier was killed in Baghdad. US officials said that four US guards had been killed in a suicide attack on a US diplomatic convoy in Mosul.
The British Defence Ministry admitted that its troops stormed a prison in Basra to release two British soldiers who had been arrested by the Iraqi police while they were wearing civilian clothes.
