Beirut, 25 September: An explosive device placed under the car of Lebanese journalist Mayy Shidyaq was the cause of the blast Sunday [25 September] that seriously injured the female news presenter, a security source said.
The source told Kuna such explosive devices usually weighs around 500 grams and attached to the body of the car by a magnet.
These bombs, triggered by remote control, hit the target accurately, explained the source.
Meanwhile, a medical source said Shidyaq, who works for the Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation (LBC) as a talk show host, would be moved to another hospital in Beirut to undergo some operations.
He said the TV presenter was seriously wounded in one of her hands and two legs.
Today's explosion is the second against a Lebanese journalist since the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafiq al-Hariri on February 14. The first blast killed Al-Nahar newspaper journalist Samir Qasir on June 2.
