Conference in Pakistan Says Afghan Reconstruction Progressing Well

Participants of the conference held in Peshawar on the development in various sectors of life in Afghanistan since the Bonn agreement have expressed satisfaction over the reconstruction and democratic process in Afghanistan and said that Afghanistan would stand on its own feet very soon if the international community fulfils its promises for the reconstruction of Afghanistan. The conference, which was arranged by the Afghan consulate in Peshawar, was attended by representatives of various Afghan ministries and representatives from Iran, Germany and Pakistan.

Deputy Education Minister of Afghanistan Mohammad Sidique, Deputy Minister of Water and Power of Afghanistan Eng Mohammad Amin Monsif, Afghan Consular General in Peshawar Hajji Abdol Khaleq Farahi and various other scholars addressed the conference. They expressed contentment over the reconstruction of Afghanistan and the ongoing political process there and said that despite numerous problems Afghanistan was heading in the direction of standing on its own feet very soon. They said that the international community had fulfilled its role to establish a national government in Afghanistan, but the ongoing process of development will be stepped up if the international community fulfils all other promises it had made to Afghanistan.
