Australian police have interviewed 5,000 passengers returning from Bali, checking video footage, photos and clothing in search of clues in Saturday's bombings.
At Indonesia's request, 32 Australian officers have been assigned to help investigate the suicide bombings that killed 27 people, including four Australians, and injured many others.
Police had been deployed to all major airports in Australia to talk with returning travelers, The Australian reported Monday.
An Australian team including experts in forensics, counter-terrorism, bombs and victim intelligence has also been dispatched to Bali to help with investigations there.
A police spokesman said his department was building on experience gained during the 2002 Bali bombings, when a large number of the victims were Australian.
The spokesman said other international law enforcement agencies were also involved in the investigation, including four officers from London's Metropolitan Police, but that the Indonesian police remained in charge.
