KANDAHAR, Afghanistan (Reuters) - A strong explosion shook the southern Afghan city of Kandahar on Monday, but there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties, residents said.
The blast occurred in a crowded area of the city center during the morning rush hour and came a day after four British nationals were wounded in a suicide attack near the same area.
Foreign aid workers and U.S.-led troops are based in Kandahar, the former main bastion of the ousted Taliban guerrillas.
