Germany’s Clement says Stoiber to be new EconMin

BERLIN (Reuters) - German Economy Minister Wolfgang Clement
said on Monday he will be succeeded in his post by Christian
Social Union (CSU) leader and former conservative chancellor
candidate Edmund Stoiber.

"My successor will be the head of the smallest party
represented in the Bundestag (lower house)," Clement said,
referring to Stoiber's CSU, the Bavarian sister party of Angela
Merkel's Christian Democrats (CDU).
