Hamas Spokesman Says Israeli "Escalation" Fuels Violence

Gaza: Mushir Al-Masri, Hamas's media spokesman in the Gaza Strip, warned that the escalated Israeli aggressions on the Palestinian people would ignite violence in the Palestinian lands anew.

Masri, in press statements, charged Israel with violating the cease-fire which the Palestinian resistance factions have been honouring since the Sharm al-Shaykh summit meeting last February.

He underlined that the ongoing aggressions emphasized the fact that Israel was still occupying the Gaza Strip that was evacuated by its troops over the past two months.

He pointed out that the Palestinian resistance would not remain arms-folded vis-\-vis the Israeli atrocities perpetrated against the unarmed Palestinians, and urged the resistance factions to join forces and reunite in face of the Israeli "superciliousness".

Masri re-emphasized that resistance was the only practical option to drive the Israeli occupiers away from the Palestinian lands.

He, meanwhile, dismissed the statements voiced by some PNA [Palestinian National Authority] officials accusing the resistance factions of being "terrorist" as "a stab in the back of the resistance defending the Palestinian people".

The Hamas' spokesman, in conclusion, urged those officials to condemn the recent Israeli wave of arrests against hundreds of Palestinians instead of denouncing the resistance's attacks on Israel.
