Defence attorneys of deposed Iraqi President Saddam Husayn have suspended contacts with the [Iraqi Special] Tribunal, calling on the United Nations to provide them with protection.
Khalil al-Dulaymi, head of the panel defending Saddam Husayn, said that the panel demanded that the 28 November court session be considered null-and-void and illegal because the panel is unable to perform its tasks due to threats it receives.
This position comes against the backdrop of the killing of a second lawyer from Saddam Husayn's defence panel. [Video shows Al- Dulaymi reading a statement]
