Passenger Plane Crashes North of Afghan Capital

Kabul, 11 November: A passenger plane crashed in the Shahidan area of Goldara District, north of Kabul, at 1000 hours [local time, 0530 gmt] on 20 Laram [11 November]. All the passengers on board have died.

According to local residents, the plane crashed at around 1000 hours and so far no rescuers have reached the scene to look for survivors. The Pajhwok news team, which reached the area first, says the hands, feet and other body parts of the victims are lying everywhere in the area.

Abdol Sabur, a local resident, told PNA [Pajhwok News Agency]: “We were harvesting grapes in our garden when we saw that a four- engine plane had caught fire and was about to crash.”

The Afghan government and coalition forces have not yet commented on this incident.
