Venezuela crude oil export to US falls 20 percent in September
CARACAS, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) — Venezuela exported 1.03 million barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil to the United States in September, a 20 percent drop compared with the 1.29 million bpd in August, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Wednesday.
However, Venezuela’s refined petrol products that were exported to the United States showed a rise, the agency said in a report.
Taking refined petrol products and crude oil together, Venezuela’s exports to the US totaled 1.32 million bpd, a fall of 15 percent compared with August, but a 0.8 percent rise over a year earlier.
The country, along with Canada, Saudi Arabia and Mexico, remains one of the largest crude oil suppliers for the United States, according to the EIA.
