Russian Defence Minister Admits Deliveries of Anti-Aircraft Complexes to Iran

Moscow, 5 December: Sergey Ivanov, Russian deputy prime minister and defence minister, has officially confirmed the fact that Russia has delivered Tor-M1 anti-aircraft missile complexes to Iran.
"Indeed, an agreement has been signed with Iran to deliver Tor anti-aircraft complexes. This will not change the balance of forces in the region," the deputy prime minister told journalists in Moscow on Monday [5 December].
Ivanov stressed that Russia is carrying out all deliveries of armaments to Iran with the most strict observance of international legislation.
[Tor complexes are a means of medium-range air defence, can only be used with the appearance of attacking planes and are an "exclusively 100-per-cent defence armament", Ivanov said, according to ITAR-TASS news agency, Moscow in Russian 1514 gmt 5 Dec 05.]
