Tehran, 7 December: The person in charge of the air force's public relations has said: The reason the plane was delayed was because of the inclement weather.
Colonel Mahini, speaking to ILNA's reporter, referred to the rumours circulating about the C-130 military plane crash and said: The suggestion that the plane had a technical fault is a rumour. The plane was not delayed because of a technical fault; the poor weather conditions was the reason why the plane's take off was delayed.
He said the following about dealing with the situation of those who had lost their lives and paying compensation to the victims' families: We are still in the process of identifying the martyrs. After that, we have to hold the funeral ceremonies and memorial services. At the moment, the payment of compensation is a peripheral issue and is not on the agenda of our discussions.
Finally, he said that a news conference would be held in this connection.
He added: We hope that the hidden aspects of the accident will become clear as soon as possible so that we can inform our dear people fully.
