Hamas Warns Israel Against Setting Up Buffer Zone in Northern Gaza

In the name of God, the merciful, the compassionate. "But if they persist, the punishment of those before them is already (a matter of warning for them)." [Part of a Koranic verse].

O masses of our mujahidin people.

The Zionist aggression is continuing and its ferocity and oppression against our people and land are mounting because the angry occupier desires to consolidate its occupation and usurpation of our occupied land. It is also a desperate attempt to break our people's will, steadfastness, and valiant resistance.

The Zionists' terrorism clearly manifests itself in the aerial piracy over our beloved strip, the incursions, the storming operations, and assassinations in both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. This terrorism has been crowned with imposing what is called the buffer zone in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.

Hamas confirms the enemy's failure in realizing its goals. On the buffer zone, the movement asserts the following:

1. Hamas and the Palestinian people will not accept the new occupation's measure, will not concede this matter, and will not surrender to this measure. It also will not allow the enemy to exercise more bullying against the inhabitants of the northern part of the Gaza Strip and the rest of the occupied land.

2. The movement deems this measure as a new occupation of part of the strip after being liberated. It will also deal with it on the following basis: wherever there is occupation, there will be resistance.

3. The enemy did not learn from its previous experiences as it failed to continue its occupation of the Gaza Strip, and was driven out [from Gaza], thanks to God first and then to the resistance and steadfastness. But if the enemy is thinking of returning to the northern part of the Gaza Strip, it will experience the same fate.

4. The movement asserts that the Al-Qassam Brigades and other resistance factions will not surrender to the policy of the de facto situation, which the occupation pursues. In addition, they will deal with this measure [the buffer zone] on the right time and in the right place.

5. The movement also pays tribute to the sons of our people who rejected to evacuate their houses and farms, and who insisted to stand fast despite the shelling and aggression. The movement affirms that it is standing by their side.

It is jihad until victory or martyrdom.
