Text of report by Palestinian radio Voice of Palestine on 2 January
The Israeli occupation police this evening broke into a meeting held by a number of Fatah candidates for the legislative elections in the Jerusalem constituency. The police confiscated the candidates' identification cards for some time on the pretext that were are carrying out illegal activities.
Our correspondent in Jerusalem said that the occupation police then left the site of the meeting after they warned the candidates against holding similar meetings in the future on the pretext that no Israeli official decision has been made thus far on allowing the Jerusalemites to participate in the legislative elections.
