Moscow, 3 January: Russia has forwarded to the European Commission its assessment of the situation in the gas dispute with Ukraine, Russian Minister of Industry and Energy Viktor Khristenko told a news conference at Interfax's central office today.
"I have sent Brussels our assessment of the situation with Ukraine. A conference of energy ministry experts will be held [in Brussels] tomorrow and I hope Europe's reaction will be commensurate with the assessment of those risks it runs because of Ukraine's monopoly hold [Russian: monopolizm] on supplies of Russian gas," Khristenko said.
