Turkish Agriculture Ministry Says 306,000 Birds Culled so Far

Ankara, 10 January: Turkish Agriculture and Rural Affairs Ministry stated that 306,000 winged animals have been culled across Turkey so far due to bird flu.

After bird flu was detected in northeastern city of Igdir on 26 December 2005, a total of 306,000 winged animals have been culled in 15 cities so far.

These cities are Igdir, Erzurum, Agri, Bursa, Istanbul, Sanliurfa, Erzincan, Bitlis, Yozgat, Van, Siirt, Bingol, Kars, Corum and Ankara, added the ministry.
