Afghan President Says Country Required Foreign Troops for Five to 10 Years

Speaking at the International Economic Forum in Switzerland, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Hamed Karzai said his country required the presence of foreign troops for five to 10 years.
A Bakhtar Information Agency correspondent reported that addressing the International Economic Forum in Davos in Switzerland, Hamed Karzai said suicide attacks were still worrying in Afghanistan
. The Afghan president welcomed Britain's announcement about the deployment of extra troops in Afghanistan on Friday in Switzerland. British Defence Minister John Reid has announced to dispatch 3,300 troops to Afghanistan . The deployment of these troops is part of the NATO operation in Afghanistan . The British defence minister said British troops would be deployed within the framework of the NATO operations to rebuild Afghanistan .Source: BBC Monitoring South Asia
