Iraqi Sunni Party Alleges Government Link to "Systematic Assassinations"

Iraqi police detachments have found 18 unidentified bodies in a small minibus in western Baghdad. An Iraqi Interior Ministry source said today that the victims were found in a small Kia vehicle at the Salah-al-Din junction in the Al-Amiriyah area at 0100 today [2200 gmt on 7 March].
The source added that the bodies, which had been strangled, were of people of different ages, adding that the bodies had been taken for forensic examination.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Party, one of the parties comprising the Iraqi Accord Front, accused militias conspiring with the government of carrying out systematic assassinations in the districts of Al- Sha'b, Al-Hurriyah, Al-Baladiyat, Baghdad al-Jadidah, Ur and Al- Kamaliyah.
In a statement issued yesterday, the party noted that around 20 people are kidnapped and killed on a daily basis in an attempt to force people to leave these areas.
