LONDON, Ont. (CP) - Eight men found dead on a remote southwestern Ontario farm were either members of the notorious Bandidos biker gang or associated with it, police said Monday.
The eight victims all suffered gunshot wounds, and five people have been arrested and charged with first-degree murder, Ontario police Det.-Supt. Ross Bingley told a news conference.
"The victims of this crime have been postively identified and are associated (with), or belong to, the Bandidos motorcycle gang," said Bingley.
"This is an isolated incident with ties to the Bandidos."
One officer called the killings an "internal cleansing" within the gang itself.
The details come the day after police were seen marching a group of people out of the home of a reputed biker-gang leader not far from the grisly scene.
The people seen with their hands in the air walking out of the home of Wayne Kellestine, a former leader of the now-defunct St. Thomas Loners with links to the notorious Bandidos.
