Quake jolts western Greece, no damage or injuries
ATHENS (Reuters) – An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the
Richter scale shook western Greece early on Tuesday, but no
damage or injuries were reported, Greek authorities said.
The epicenter of the quake was in the sea south of the
Ionian island of Zakynthos and was felt along Greece’s western
coastline, the Athens Geodynamic Institute and fire brigade
Authorities decided to keep all schools closed as a
precaution, the semi-official news agency ANA said.
Another tremor, 5.7 in magnitude, hit the same region last
Wednesday, without causing any serious damage.
