Security alert lifted at Brussels airport

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - A security alert at Brussels' Zaventem
international airport has been called off and normal operations
are resuming, officials said on Thursday.

"At this moment the A terminal is open for operations," a
spokesman for the airport authorities said.

The terminal, which handles flights to many destinations in
the European Union, was evacuated earlier on Thursday after a
passenger ran off during a routine check, triggering the
security alert, officials said.
