Former Indonesian President Suharto, who has suffered several strokes, was reported in serious condition at a Jakarta hospital.
Charges of embezzling $600 million during the 30 years Suharto, 84, was in power were dropped last week because of his ill health.
His condition was reported by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono who visited him in Pertamina hospital, the BBC said.
Suharto underwent surgery for the third time in two weeks to remove blood clots near the site of recent intestinal surgery.
