GAZA (Reuters) - Gunmen shot and wounded three members of the Palestinian Islamic militant group Hamas after abducting them briefly in Gaza on Wednesday, medics and Hamas sources said.
No group claimed responsibility for the shootings which came amid a power struggle between Hamas, now in charge of the Palestinian government, and the once dominant Fatah faction.
Hamas sources said that three unarmed members were kidnapped at dawn in the Gaza town of Khan Younis and then dropped in a street a short time later with gunshot wounds in their legs. Medics said one of the wounded men was in critical condition.
